You've probably noticed that red is everywhere lately. It's been nearly a year and a half since the 'Unexpected Red Theory' took over our social media feeds, yet the power color continues to dominate interiors in new and exciting ways.

Our latest fixation? Burgundy marble kitchen countertops, which are a gorgeous focal point in Kevin Hart's otherwise neutral kitchen.

The actor and comedian shared a clip of his space to his Instagram page, and we couldn't help but admire the deep, fall and winter-ready burgundy coloring and intricate marble veining. It's right on trend for the season, and design experts agree that it's a look to experiment with.

The combination of deep, dark burgundy with lighter shades is a winning duo, thanks to its balance and sophistication.

'Burgundy's rich, intense hue pairs beautifully with warm neutrals such as beige, cream, and taupe,' Cassandra Leisz, Creative Director at interiors brand Ruggable. 'Pairing the boldness of burgundy with the comfort of these other basics provides an approachable depth and interest in any space in the home.'

She continues, 'In larger, open areas, burgundy can act as a focal point whilst defining different sections. For example, a large burgundy rug can define and create separate areas in an open-plan living room, creating a cozy zone without the need for physical partitions.'

We can see that Kevin has opted for this strategy, using the counter space as a contained area to showcase the burgundy marble. However, if you're working with a smaller kitchen, Cassandra advises a slightly different approach.

'In more compact spaces, burgundy is a great accent colour because its deep, rich tone adds warmth and jewel-tone luxury without overwhelming the space, creating a sophisticated focal point in smaller areas,' she explains. 'Think small rugs, throw pillows, or artwork to inject the color into a space.'

As design trends champion bolder, richer, more inviting hues, burgandy will only continue to grow in popularity. Kevin Hart's kitchen is just the beginning.
