Kevin Garnett gives kudos to Ray Allen for making top-75 list; hints feud may be thawing

Cracks have been appearing in the longstanding feud between Ray Allen and the rest of the Boston Celtics 2008 title crew in the last year and change, particularly with Paul Pierce making amends with the UConn product after Allen and his former teammates fell out on his exit to the Miami Heat in 2012.

And hints the animosity between the former Husky and Kevin Garnett popped up at the most recent Hall of Fame induction, with Garnett and Allen even having been seated next to one another by the event staff. But KG recently took to Instagram (h/t NBC Boston Sports’ Darren Hartwell) to congratulate his former teammates Pierce and Allen both for their inclusion on the NBA’s 75th-anniversary list of the top 75 players in league history.

“Congratulations to WALTER ‘Ray’ & P Pierce for making top 75 players,” wrote Garnett, adding “Truly blessed n WELL DESERVED TO BOTH … Congrats KINGS”.

Beleaguered fans of the team will likely welcome an end to the rift, which has lingered on far too long given what this group accomplished together, and what it meant to the franchise after such a long championship drought.

While it isn’t certain they are on good terms, it does appear some major headway has been made in that regard.
