Kevin Durant was ‘most humble superstar’ Kendrick Perkins played with

It’s been three seasons since Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder for greener pastures in California to play with the Golden State Warriors. Though, a new set of rumors are circulating around the ex-Thunder superstar as his team battles against the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals while Durant is sidelined due to injury.

But the speculation and drama that now seems to always surround former Oklahoma City superstar and 2007 first-round pick (then as the Seattle SuperSonics) wasn’t always an issue with Durant. In fact, his now-retired Oklahoma City teammate Kendrick Perkins called Durant “low-maintenance” and expressed how the man he refers to as “little brother” just cares about basketball while Perkins talked about his own days with the Thunder from 2010-11 to 2014-15 on FS1’s “Fair Game” with Kristine Leahy.

The former Oklahoma City center went as far as to say Durant is “the most humble superstar I’ve been around in my life.”

I was just telling him the real. Sometimes, a lot of people don’t understand that we all are human beings and just because they’re superstars don’t mean nothing. They still have their highs and they have their lows. They may not show it to the open world. Just because you can have everything in life money-wise, that still don’t solve problems or if you’re going through something mentally on the basketball court. KD used to call me after games if he was frustrated. I mean, literally, we would stay on the phone until three or four in the morning and I’d just break it down to him. And I’d tell him if he did something going, I’d tell him if he did something bad. It would never be to the point where I’m biased where I don’t want to wan him to get mad at me. I was always straightforward with him.
