NEW YORK — Kevin Durant is in the health and safety protocol because a Nets employee tested positive for the coronavirus, a league source told the New York Daily News.
A team employee drove in a car with Durant three separate times, to the Nets’ practice facility for testing, back to Durant’s home from testing, then to Barclays Center for the Nets’ Friday night matchup against the Toronto Raptors. Durant and the employee were seemingly not wearing face masks, according to a league source.
As a result, Durant was ruled as a close contact to the positive individual and must quarantine for seven days. He will be able to return to the team on Friday.
The remainder of Nets players and staffers tested negative for the coronavirus, including tests that were conducted at the conclusion of Brooklyn’s 123-117 loss to Toronto.
