Kevin Durant: Thompson deserved Curry’s four-point play at his expense

The 2019 NBA All-Star Game featured Team LeBron going against Team Giannis, with players for the Golden State Warriors split between the two — Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson on Team LeBron and Stephen Curry on Team Giannis.

According to a quote from Durant, as reported by The Athletic‘s Anthony Slater on Twitter, there appears to be a bit of an intra-Splash Brothers rivalry.

Curry’s accomplishments are well-documented because he’s always setting or breaking some record, while Thompson only goes viral occasionally with insane highlights.

Add in that Curry doesn’t mind engaging the media and has used his winning personality to become a media darling, while Thompson is more media averse, and the ground is set for intra-squad conflict.

According to Durant, Thompson does a healthy amount of trash-talking to Curry.

“It was good to see Steph knock down that shot over Klay,” Durant said. “Because Klays’ always talking trash to him.”

Revenge may be best served cold but, in this case, it doesn’t hurt that it was served through a four-point play.
