Kevin Durant on return from injury: ‘I’m excited to play again’

Kevin Durant missed the Warriors last two games with an ankle contusion, but is set to return on Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Warriors went 2-0 during the stretch without Durant, but will be happy to have his ability to change the game on both sides of the ball back in the lineup — especially on a night against a surging Spurs team.

When asked about getting back into the swing of things, Durant said that he didn’t think the two days off did much for his body, but he got a few minor things figured out.

“I’m excited to play again. I’m looking forward to another opportunity to get better.

“It’s good to get everything figured out. I had some nagging injuries here and there. To get it figured out feels pretty good, but it sucked not being able to play.”

Without Durant on the floor, the Warriors seemingly started to figure things out with signature wins over the Rockets and the Thunder. They’ll look to keep the good times rolling against the Spurs at 5 p.m. PST on ESPN.
