Kevin Durant offers update on calf injury with YouTube live stream

Kevin Durant called his recent calf strain "a bummer" on his latest YouTube offering.

The Warriors star spent a few minutes Thursday updating fans via YouTube live streaming session. Durant talked mostly about his recovery from a calf issue sustained in the third quarter of Sunday's Game 1 against the Blazers.

"Felt good to finish the game, but afterward it just tightened up on me a little bit and I was sore for the next few days," Durant explained, dressed in a blue Team USA shirt. "Felt like I could go yesterday (for Game 2), but Coach (Steve) Kerr and the training staff and the whole organization told me it would be best to give it a few days rest. So hopefully I see how I feel these next couple days."

The extra day of rest before Saturday's game helps, Durant added.

"I'm getting better every day," Durant said. "Hopefully I can be out there with my teammates, grinding it out, trying to move forward and get a W in Game 3."

Durant couldn't help but express his distaste for missing playing time.

"It's a bummer, man. A bummer. I hate being out; I hate being hurt," Durant said. "Obviously, it's something that's kind of out of my control right now. Just trying to get better, and work on it every single day, get as much treatment as I can _ ice, do all that good stuff _ and get ready to be back. So I'm positive about it."

Durant then displayed his recording studio _ sharing a beat he helped mix _ and the view from his Oakland hills home.

"Just wanted to give you an update, tell you how I'm doing," Durant concluded. "Hopefully your day's going well. Hopefully you smiled today, hopefully you made somebody else smile. ... Thanks a lot for all the love and support."
