Kevin Durant is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday

The Golden State Warriors won Game 5 in Toronto, 106-105, to keep their season alive on Monday night. But it came at a cost for the defending champions.

After welcoming superstar Kevin Durant back to the lineup after he missed nine games following a calf strain in the semifinals, Durant suffered another injury in the second quarter on Monday night.

He immediately grabbed the same spot where he was hurt before, but this was much worse, with people assuming the worst. Post game, those fears were confirmed.

General manager Bob Myers took the podium and confirmed that Durant now has an Achilles injury and the extent of the injury is not known yet. Durant is scheduled to have an MRI on Tuesday to figure out the severity of the injury.

The Warriors will have to move on without their leader. They have proven they can win without Durant. But, against this Raptors team, the job gets much, much tougher without the offensive machine.

Game 6 is Thursday night back at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
