Kevin Durant is ‘Questionable’ to play Saturday vs. the Thunder

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant is questionable to play Saturday night on the road against the Thunder due to an ankle injury, head coach Steve Kerr said on Friday afternoon.

Durant did not play Wednesday against the Houston Rockets due to the injury. The former Thunder player rolled his right ankle in the team’s previous game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.

Durant returned to practice on Friday with the Warriors and it appears as though he’ll play in the contest against the Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Durant is averaging 27.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.2 blocks in 65 games this season with the Warriors. In the two previous games against OKC this season, Durant posted 27 points, 11 rebounds, 4.5 assists and two blocks per game.

The trip for Durant to OKC on Saturday could be his last during the regular season as a member of the Warriors. He is a free agent this summer and there has been rampant speculation that he could leave the team to sign elsewhere, perhaps with the New York Knicks.

While the future of Durant is unclear, the former MVP has apparently already ruled out a return with the Thunder. Durant is expected to attend the jersey retirement of Nick Collison on March 20.
