Kevin Durant has some words for Raptors fans who cheered his injury

For the Golden State Warriors, Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals was one of the tougher nights in their history. They beat the Raptors 106-105 to keep their hopes of a three-peat alive, but it was also the night that superstar Kevin Durant suffered an Achilles injury.

Durant, who had missed nine games in a row after suffering a calf injury in Game 5 of the semifinals series, returned for Game 5 with his Warriors team down 3-1 in the Finals hoping to give the team a spark. He scored 11 quick points and was 3-for-3 from downtown. But he went down after just 12 minutes and was helped off the floor.

He was met initially with cheers and applause by Raptors fans who seemed to be happy that he was hurt.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, Durant had a comeback for the fans:

It will probably be the last time they will be in the Finals.

Durant will play a role in keeping Toronto out of the Finals as he heads out East joining the Brooklyn Nets. While he won’t play in the 2019-20 season due to the injury, he can come back in 2020 and make a big impact with the Nets.
