Kevin Durant feuds on Twitter with Thunder fans over his comments about Oklahoma City

If there’s one thing NBA fans have come to learn about Kevin Durant, it’s that he has trouble ignoring criticism from any source.

It could be a teenager with an Instagram account or some random Twitter user with 100 followers — Durant doesn’t care. If he doesn’t like what he reads, he’ll respond.

That happened again on Tuesday.

In the hours after a Wall Street Journal feature revealed that Durant had some unpleasant things to say about Oklahoma City, fans predictably tweeted their reactions to the injured Nets star. Fans, in particular, took issue with Durant ruling out a future return to OKC after how “toxic” the city and organization were in response to his signing with the Warriors.

Well, Durant — as he tends to do — felt the need to defend those remarks on Twitter against random fans.

When someone called him out for repeatedly feuding with random fans who shouldn’t have this effect on him, Durant explained that maybe he just likes Twitter.

At some point, Durant has to realize that his tweets aren’t going to change the opinions of Thunder (and most NBA) fans. If anything, the tweets are hurting his cause.

Just ignore the noise.
