Kevin Durant bids on the side of luck with No. 7 Brooklyn Nets jersey

Kevin Durant has been a busy man.

Apart from recovering from surgery on his ruptured right Achilles, the former two-time NBA champion and Finals MVP agreed to a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, contemplated his life’s journey via Instagram, shredded the hearts of the Golden State Warriors and the Dub Nation fan base and learned along with the rest of the world that Golden State co-chairman Joe Lacob intends to put Durant’s No. 35 jersey on the shelf.

But it appears Durant needed to part ways with No. 35 as much as he needed to move on from the Warriors. According to a Sunday tweet, Durant is going with No. 7 for his Nets jersey although No. 35 is not currently taken by another player on the team.

The jersey number is confirmed on the team’s roster page at ESPN.com.

After his brutal ending with the Warriors, could Durant be beckoning luck to side? No one would blame him if that’s the case.
