Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson troll Drake after Game 2 win

Every playoff series has an instigator that gives the matchups an extra zest. Usually, that person is a player. However, in the 2019 NBA Finals, the agitator is none other than Raptors super fan and self-proclaimed “6 God” of Toronto. The rapper Drake has been providing a nagging voice in Games 1 and 2, constantly jawing with various members of the Warriors, especially Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

During Game 1, Drake performed his “Hotline Bling” dance in response to Thompson’s answer during a press conference. Additionally, on Sunday night, Drake arrived wearing a Kevin McAllister “Home Alone” hoodie, poking fun at Warriors forward Kevin Durant’s lack of availability during the first two games of the Finals.

After Golden State’s comeback victory in Game 2, Thompson and Durant were quick to call out the Grammy-winning rapper.

While the banter is largely playful, (Drake has tattoos of Curry and Durant on his arm and Thompson has told media that he is a big fan of the artist’s music) it has still been highly entertaining to see the two parties go at each other over the past couple of games. It will definitely be an intriguing subplot to see what the two parties have to say over the rest of the series.
