Kevin Doyle buys half-brother to Champion Chase winner Altior

Kevin Doyle has splashed €155,000 on a half-brother to chasing superstar Altior.

The former Republic of Ireland striker bought the horse who is sired by dual Derby winner Camelot at Tattersalls on Tuesday.

Speaking after making the purchase, Doyle said: "He's Altior's half brother and he's by Camelot so there's nothing not to like about him.

"For a June foal he was quite big so I'm delighted to get him, he's a lovely looking foal. Things like this don't come on the market too often. There was a few people interested in him and I'm just delighted to get him."

Doyle will keep the horse on his family farm in Wexford and hope to sell him in a few years.

He added: "He'll be a home, he'll be at home on the farm in Wexford, we'll be looking after him and feeding him well and hoping he grows into a nice three-year-old and he'll be back on sale in a couple of years time."
