Kevin De Bruyne's agent gives transfer update amid Real Madrid links

Kevin De Bruyne's agent has seemingly dismissed any talk of his client moving to Real Madrid amid speculation over the star's Man City future.

City are in Madrid for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with the Los Blancos, with De Bruyne set to feature.

On the same day, it was confirmed City had launched their formal appeal against the UEFA ruling banning them from competing in the competition for the next two seasons.

There are concerns an unsuccessful appeal could spark a mass exodus of City's main stars, including De Bruyne.

And his agent Patrick De Koster has opted not to travel to Madrid for fear his presence could add fuel to the rumours linking De Bruyne with a move to Spain.

As reported by journalist Kristof Terreur , De Koster told MidMid podcast : “l’m not going to Madrid. I don’t want to cause controversy.

"If they spot me there, they’ll say, 'he’s in Madrid to negotiate a move'.

"Let’s rule it out. I have a big TV at home. No controversy.”

De Bruyne is not the only City star to have been linked with a switch to Real since news of their UEFA ban.

Raheem Sterling has been touted for a summer move worth £180million, and did little to appease the rumours.

Speaking in an exclusive interview to AS, where he posed with a Madrid shirt, Sterling said: "No one knows what the future will hold.

"I am a player and I am always open to challenges but right now my challenge is at City and I'm really happy. I have a contract with City now and I have to respect this.

" Real Madrid are a fantastic club. When you see the white shirt you know exactly what the club stands for, it's massive."

Asked about speculation linking him with a move to the Bernabeu, Sterling said: "It's something that you see all the time, but I'm a City player and I'm enjoying it at the moment, even if things haven't gone quite planned in the league."

City's appeal against the ban was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Wednesday, but no timeframe has yet been given on when they can expect a decision.
