Kevin De Bruyne outlines future plans to leave Man City after fine start to season

Kevin De Bruyne admits he would like to join Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht once he leaves Manchester City .

De Bruyne, 28, has appeared back to his best at the start of the season after an injury-hit season last term.

The midfielder already has five assists and one goal to his name in just four Premier League matches.

He has no plans to depart anytime soon but hopes to return to Belgium to play for his former teammate in the future.

Kompany has had a tricky start to management after returning to Anderlecht as player-manager this summer.

"I’ve told him to keep a place in his team for me in a year, or seven, when I’m finished here," De Bruyne told the Sun

“If he does do that for me I will already have my next destination lined up; my next job.

“I will definitely miss him being around City. I hope his career will be just as amazing at Anderlecht as it was at City.

"At the time City were trying to sign me from Wolfsburg and Vinny was pushing for me to move to Manchester to play alongside him.

“He would constantly ask me when I was coming. He would say ‘you need to come’, constantly encouraging me to join City."

Kompany will bid a emotional farewell to Manchester on Wednesday night as he returns for his testimonial against a Premier League all-star XI.

De Bruyne meanwhile has taken his club form onto the international stage, as he starred for Belgium against Scotland this week.

The former Chelsea man scored once and provided three assists in the stroll at Hampden Park.
