Kevin De Bruyne issues injury update and message to Man City fans after Champions League defeat

Kevin De Bruyne has sent Manchester City fans a message after Saturday's Champions League defeat against Chelsea.

While the Blues found themselves 1-0 down at the break in Porto after Chelsea opened the scoring, they soon lost De Bruyne in the second half when the Belgian playmaker collided with Antonio Rudiger, which forced Pep Guardiola to substitute his captain.

De Bruyne received treatment for the incident on the pitch before being deemed not fit enough to continue by the physios, then replaced by Gabriel Jesus, and City crucially lost their key man as they attempted to score an equaliser.

Unfortunately, City's efforts were in vain and De Bruyne was pictured hurt on the sidelines helplessly watching on, but he's now taken to social media to send a message to supporters, revealing the extent of his injury.

"Hi guys just got back from the hospital. My diagnosis is Acute nose bone fracture and left orbital fracture. I feel okay now. Still disappointed about yesterday obviously but we will be back," De Bruyne wrote.

De Bruyne is included in Belgium's squad for the upcoming Europan Championships and it's expected he'll recover in time to play.
