Kevin De Bruyne injury blow as Manchester City star forced off against Tottenham

Kevin De Bruyne's injury worries have continued after the Manchester City star was forced off during Saturday's lunchtime kickoff against Tottenham.

The Belgium international has endured a stop-start campaign at the Etihad Stadium, but has recently shown signs of being back to his best.

But De Bruyne lasted just 37 minutes of the Premier League meeting with Tottenham , after appearing to roll his ankle when taking a shot at goal.

The 27-year-old was in discomfort, and when he next received possession, he fired the ball into the stands, sat on the deck grimacing, and was immediately replaced by Fernandinho.

He is now a doubt for the midweek Manchester derby against United.

The injury is the latest in a long line suffered by the Belgian this season after he initially tore a ligament in his knee in August.

He missed the next ten games for Manchester City before injuring his knee again in November. De Bruyne also injured his hamstring in March.
