Kevin de Bruyne will be looking to replicate a feat he hasn't managed in six years when Manchester City face Brighton on Saturday.
He played a key part in Manchester City taking back the mantle of being Premier League champions last season.
But the Belgian suffered a spate of injuries towards the back end of last season including a facial fracture, which delayed his introduction in the European Championships.
With the worries subsiding, De Bruyne has continued to emphasise why he is among the best playmakers in the world and his recent spell of finding the back of the net has landed him in touching distance of a record he hasn't achieved in more than half a decade.
Scoring in his previous two Premier League games against Liverpool and Burnley, De Bruyne could make it three in three at the Amex.
This would be the first time he has managed such a feat since 2015 — his debut season at the club, when he scored against West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle in successive matches.
In the clashes against the Hammers and Spurs, he couldn't steer the Blues to three points as they were beaten in both but he did manage the feat against the Magpies in a 6-1 drubbing, picking up two assists in the game.
His season was hampered by a knee injury which forced him to miss a number of matches as City went on to snatch the final Champions League spot ahead of their rivals Manchester United that year, with Leicester City winning the league.
Blues manager Pep Guardiola praised the Belgian ahead of their Champions League clash with Club Brugge in midweek, in which De Bruyne got an assist.
He said: "He's getting better, we know the best Kevin, he had some injuries in the ankle in the face, he's getting better. Every game is better than before. The goals, the dynamic, the pace only has been given if you play regularly.
"Kevin needs to be fit to be the best. His potential is the movement, attacking space, how to do it. He's getting better and it's a good sign for us."
