Kevin Clifton eyes up new gig as theatre star after taking online writing course

He's used to being labelled a bad boy but now ex-Strictly pro Kevin Clifton wants to be a Bard boy.

The dancer who fell for partner Stacey Dooley is following in Shakespeare’s footsteps by writing for the stage.

Kevin, 37, said: “I have been watching a lot of the streams of theatre online.

“I have been having a lot more creative ideas so I have started writing a play.”

The romeo reckons he is more at home writing than on the dancefloor.

Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley got together after meeting on the 2018 series of the show (BBC)

Speaking on his podcast, he told fans: “Maybe that is more truthful to my set of values and what I want to do with my life.”

Kevin added: “I have done an online writing course. I have been writing some of my own stories. Potentially that could end being a biography of sorts.”

With a colourful life, the dancer – dubbed Kevin from Grimsby by fellow pros – will have plenty to write about.

He wed fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer, 38, in 2015 but they split three years later – victims of the infamous Strictly curse which has seen a series of couples part ways.

KEVIN CLIFTON ON QUITTING STRICTLY AND LANDing HIS DREAM JOB

Kevin fell for TV star Stacey, 33, after they won the show in 2018 but was branded a “rat” and a “snake” by her furious ex.

Kevin announced he was quitting Strictly last month to focus on “other areas of my life and career”.

To be or not to be, eh Kev?
