Kevin Campbell blasts Everton stars for lacking 'character' in Norwich City defeat

Kevin Campbell believes Everton’s supporters are failing to see any sort of “character” from the club's players.

Everton's third home loss of the current campaign against Norwich on Saturday afternoon saw them slip to 15th in the league table, and left manager Marco Silva fighting to keep his job.

A number of the Blues faithful sang "sacked in the morning" towards the end of the game at Goodison Park, while others voiced their anger in the direction of chairman Bill Kenwright and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri at full-time.

Silva said the club "has to come first" in his post-match press conference when addressing speculation surrounding his future and Campbell, who enjoyed a six year spell at Goodison, can’t see anyway back for the Portuguese.

“The fans were really looking forward to this season,” the former Blues forward told Sky Sports News.

“But for some reason it hasn’t quite got going...in fact it has actually started to regress, and that is why you are seeing that sort of anger.

“Realistically, and no disrespect to Norwich, but Everton Football Club should be sorting Norwich out.

They have not been playing with the character. That is the other thing, seeing that character.

“It is one thing to lose, but it is the way they lose. The character of the players they (the fans) are not seeing it and that is why the anger is there.

“It is very difficult to come back from that. I don’t think Marco, and I don’t know Marco Silva, I’ve got allegiance to him, can come back now.”
