Kevin Bridges spotted at Scots takeaway - and fans ask if he got the 'hoose rice'

Kevin Bridges has been spotted at a Dumbarton takeaway restaurant - and fans were desperate to know if he ordered the "hoose rice".

Delighted staff at Black Rooster Peri Peri shared an image of the Clydebank comedian popping into the store to order some grub on Thursday.

The funny man, 33, was adhering to coronavirus regulations and was wearing a face covering when he entered the premises.

The team at Black Rooster were then able to have some light hearted banter with followers on Facebook, where they shared the image, asking: "We had a very special visitor at Black Rooster Dumbarton today...can you tell who it is??"

Everyone recognised the star, though a few did joke that he was in fact his pal and fellow comic, Frankie Boyle.

Some had some comical replies he'd have been proud of, referencing his own lines.

One said: "Hope you got his order right."

One added: "Hope you told him his bill was forty quid."

One queried whether the man in the mask was "Chad Hogan?".

But the most popular response of fans was to question whether Kevin, who lives in Glasgow's west end, had ordered the "hoose rice" with his food, in relation to one of his most famous gags.

The 'Hoose Rice' routine involves Bridges telling a story about staying at a friend's house one Saturday night when he was 10, which resulted in him discovering a new level of appreciation for his own parents.

He is shocked to discover that the Cassidy clan boil their own rice at home when ordering a Chinese takeaway and dubs his pal '  Hoose Rice  ' from then on.

Last year we reported Kevin changed the name of his personal company - previously called El Tiburon - to Hoose Rice Productions Limited.
