Kevin Bridges responds to angry fans over pre-sale ticket chaos as he adds extra Glasgow tour dates

Thousands of fans have been left unhappy after failing to secure tickets to see Kevin Bridges.

Eager fans wanting to see the Glaswegian comedian waited in the online queue this morning in a bid to get their hands on tickets to his upcoming Hydro shows.

However due to the overwhelming demand for tickets, fans have been struggling to get to the Ticketmaster checkout to secure their seats with many taking to social media to vent with almost 8,000 people left in limbo.

Bridges, from Clydebank, last performed at the SSE Hydro in 2018 with all dates completely selling out.

As a result, he had to add an extra four tour dates leading to a record 35 sold-out-shows at Glasgow’s Hydro, establishing him as the artist that has sold more shows than anyone else at that venue.

Kevin’s last two tours accumulated just under 1,000,000 tickets sold across the world so it's no shock that fans have been having issues.

Pre-sale tickets for Kevin Bridges: The Overdue Catch-up went on sale today (December 1) at 10am with general release scheduled for Friday, December 3.

Discussing the tour Bridges said: "Since we last spoke, a lot has changed in my life and - as we know - in this world of ours, but what hasn’t changed is the fact that a crowd of people in a room together having a laugh usually makes for a fairly pleasant evening. I’m excited to be back out doing stand-up again and I’m looking forward to seeing you all - and some new people too. Simple as that. I’ll see you up there, down there, over there, anywhere and wherever. Enjoy yer night."

The comedian will bring his 2022 tour to cities such as Aberdeen, London and Liverpool, with 10 confirmed dates in Glasgow across the month of September.

Responding to the chaos, the 35-year-old took to Twitter and said: "Hearing it’s been a bit of a screen-puncher on the ticket sites this morning. Some extra tickets will be coming soon and then there’s the general sale on Friday. Very much appreciated and I’ll try my best to make sure everyone gets along for a laugh. Thank you!"

He added: "As always, please don’t use Seatwave, viagogo and all the other shitey robbing bastard sites. Today was only a pre-sale. General sale is Friday and there will be some extra dates added. Please don’t pay over the ticket price to these. Cheers!"

After responding to comments, Bridges took to Facebook and said: "We've added another night at Belfast SSE Arena - 20th October 2022. And 4 nights!! at Glasgow OVO Hydro - 8th, 10th, 15th, 22nd September 2022."

Tickets go on general sale on Friday (December 3) at 10am.
