Kevin Bridges quits Twitter 'until everyone calms doon'

Scots comedian Kevin Bridges has quit Twitter and says he won't be back 'until everyone calms doon'.

The funnyman decided that he had enough of the social media app and announced his departure from the platform today.

But he said fans would be able to catch him on photo sharing site Instagram instead.

He wrote: "Taking a wee break from this place until everyone calms doon. I’ll be wasting precious time with my loved ones in pursuit of likes on Instagram in the meantime https://instagram.com/kevinbridgescomedian/… Peace and love folks x."

And fans responded to his news saying they understood.

One wrote: "You might have a long wait for the calming down of folks but I think we entirely understand why you'd want to have a break. Some days I find myself seething and it's all because of idiots on Twitter. Take care."

Another added: "Enjoy the break ... not a bad thing, it's a cesspit atm."

While one said: "It’s an open sewer at times Kevin."

And one commented: "Take care buddy."

The last few days social media platform Twitter has been flooded with abuse aimed at England players Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho after they were defeated by Italy during a penalty shoot out.

The social media giants said that they had suspended accounts which violated its policy and deleted a volume of offensive tweets.

Kevin and his wife Kerry are expecting their first child together in the next few months.

The happy couple became man and wife back in 2019 at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Hyndland.
