Kesha revealed she was secretly engaged to mystery ex-partner but called it off

Kesha has shared that she was secretly engaged at one point.

The 36-year-old didn't reveal the identity of her mystery man or any more details about her failed engagement, but revealed that the he is "still a friend."

She also shared that a track called Too Far Gone on her upcoming album Gag Order was inspired the relationship and was written after they had parted ways.

In the interview with Rolling Stone, she explained that the track was the album's dose of "pain and loss."

Kesha was in a long term relationship with Brad Ashenfelter, who she had been dating since 2014.

The couple kept a low profile throughout the duration of their relationship but were pictured on a romantic leisurely stroll on a beach in May 2021.

"He’s a sweetheart, but he also lets me be me," she told Attitude magazine about her then-boyfriend in 2019. “You know, I’ll call him and be like, ‘I had fun tonight, I met a sweet girl and we had a really good time.’ And he’ll say, ‘Cool, babe, I love you.’

"It’s so nice," she added.

She's recently been linked to film producer and entertainment attorney Riccardo Maddalosso. The pair were spotted sharing a kiss in Malibu outside Japanese restaurant Nobu after being linked several times this year.

They were previously spotted sharing an embrace last year in August after enjoying dinner in Los Angeles as well as packing on the PDA on Oscar night but weren't seen together again until their Malibu link up last month.

In June 2022, Kesha opened up about exploring her sexuality in a candid social media post.

In the now-deleted Instagram post, she wrote: "I’m not gay. I’m not straight. I don’t know what I am. I love people."

Kesha continued: "I love people because we are all our own little consciousness journeys, dancing around the sun. How weird and interesting and fun this life is, right?"

"I refuse to be anything, really, except for open to it all. I know it can be confusing sometimes, but you are so seen and loved."
