Kerry Wynn visited Bengals on Thursday, Giants still in play

One of the more underrated players for the New York Giants over the past few seasons has been Kerry Wynn. On Thursday, the multipurpose defensive end visited with the Cincinnati Bengals.

On a defense with plenty of holes after losing Jason Pierre-Paul, Eli Apple, Damon Harrison, Olivier Vernon and Landon Collins, the Giants are hoping to get Wynn back despite his visit with Cincinnati.

Although the Giants are in need of pass rushers, they are working with a tight budget — a tight budget that is unfortunately due to a bunch of dead cap left behind after trades involving the aforementioned JPP and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Wynn signed with the Giants in 2014 after going undrafted. Since then, he has worked his way up the depth chart as a valuable rotational player on defense. Perhaps the biggest benefit to having Wynn on the roster is his ability to contribute on special teams.

Wynn wasn’t the only one on the Giants’ roster last year to visit with Cincinnati on Thursday.

Riley was a mixed bag in 2018, coming up with some big plays at times, while also proving to be a serious liability in the secondary.

The Giants defense is filled with voids, but getting Wynn back could certainly help the defensive line and add continuity of keeping some of the same players on the roster. The Giants would love to have Wynn back, but it obviously has to be at the right price.
