Kerry GAA news: Kingdom to lose another minor All-Ireland winner as Deividas Uosis confirms AFL deal

Kerry are set to lose yet another young star to the AFL after 2017 All-Ireland minor winner Deividas Uosis confirmed he's set to join Brisbane Lions.

Dingle clubman Uosis, an established goalkeeper with the Kingdom, looks to be snapped up on a two-year international rookie deal starting in October.

After impressing at the AFL Combine in UCD last December, he joins club-mate Mark O’Connor and Na Gaeil’s Stefan Okunbor who are both playing for Geelong Cats.

"I was surprised to get the call," he told the Irish Independent.

"I was told I tested well at the combine. Everyone did interviews at the combine but Brisbane were the first to come back to me and when they did, I wasn't going to miss that opportunity.

"It's a dream to go down there and play professional sport."

The Lithuanian-born star will also join Dublin's James Madden in the Brisbane Lions ranks.
