Kerry Katona will miss GMB's Piers Morgan but slams 'disgusting' Meghan comments

Kerry Katona has branded Piers Morgan's comments about Meghan Markle 'disgusting'.

But the doting mum-of-five says she will miss him on Good Morning Britain after he quit the show in recent weeks following backlash over his fiery views on the Duchess of Sussex's bombshell Oprah interview.

The 40-year-old former Atomic Kitten singer has voiced her opinion on the matter - where controversial Piers said he 'didn't believe' Meghan's suicidal thoughts - a claim she made in the interview.

Writing in her New! magazine column, Kerry began: "I thought what he said about Meghan and her mental health was disgusting."

She added: "So many people struggle to speak out about their mental health and someone with his platform saying something like that can be dangerous."

The singer went on to explain the ITV daytime show is 'not the same' without the presenter, and she is already missing him.

"Piers held a lot of people to account during the pandemic and he was bloody brilliant, but his comments disappointed me. GMB won't be the same without him and I'll miss him now he's left," Kerry concluded.

Just two weeks ago, Good Morning Britain was hit with over 41,000 Ofcom complaints after Piers shared his outrage over Oprah's interview with Meghan and Prince Harry on live TV.

His divisive coverage sparked a fiery clash with colleague Alex Beresford, and saw Piers storm off the set in a huff.

It's since become the most complained-about TV show ever, according to broadcast watchdog Ofcom, with the total number soaring over 57,000.

It was also reported Meghan made a formal complain herself to ITV.

That evening, ITV confirmed that Piers would no longer be presenting GMB, effective immediately.

The following morning Piers told reporters that conversations with ITV had been "amicable".

The ITV breakfast show has seen ratings take a major hit since Piers suddenly took his leave.

Five petitions have been set up to get him to return to hosting duties, the most popular of which boasts more than 155,000 names.

Despite the high hopes of fans, however, Piers has ruled out a return, despite the "pleasant surprise" of huge fan support.
