Kerry Katona slams Atomic Kitten's Tash and Liz as being jealous of her popularity

Kerry Katona has harshly swiped at her former Atomic Kitten bandmates Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon after she gushed about being the most popular band member.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 39, slammed her ex-band members and hinted that they were the boring ones of the group by suggesting she was the one who "made" the band.

The mum-of-five made the dig towards Tash and Liz in her New! column this week as she attempted to symphasise with former One Direction star Liam Payne .

Liam, 26, recently revealed he felt he was labelled as One Direction's 'Mr Boring' and got the least screams from fans.

Kerry spoke about Liam's revelation but admitted she couldn't really relate as she believes she was the most "popular" member in Atomic Kitten.

The singer wrote: "I can't exactly empathise as I was definitely the most popular member of Atomic Kitten.

"It used to wind Tash up no end, but I was gobby, I was blonde with big boobs and I'd had a troubled upbringing, which made me relateable."

The star detailed how her bombshell appearance and "bubbly" personality made that band, regardless that Natasha and Liz were great singers.

Kerry continued: " It also didn't hurt that I was married to a Westlifer!

"Granted, Liz and Tash had the voices - they'd be up on stage belting out Whole Again while I'd be humming along in the background.

But my bubbly personality made that band what it is - no question!"

Kerry's revelation about the band suggested she believed Natasha and Liz have her to thank for the quintessential noughties girl group's success.

The girl band star was a member of Atomic Kitten right from their formation in 1998 until she quit for the first time in 2001 amid a feud with Natasha.

The trio released their debut single Right Now in 1999 and secured their first number one with Whole Again, in 2001.

Kerry recently spoke out and admitted it wasn't always easy-going with bandmates Liz and Natasha.

She revealed backstage fist fights and stamping on each other's feet during live performances was a common occurance.

Kerry also confessed she once made Liz change in the toilets at a TV studio because she was mad at her and wanted to get her own back.

*Mirror Online has contacted Kerry's representatives for comment.
