Kerry Katona says police turned up at her 40th birthday bash

Kerry Katona told how police turned up at their luxury villa while celebrating her 40th birthday in Spain.

Kerry and fiancé, Ryan Mahoney appeared on Loose Women via videolink to talk about their engagement, with Kerry citing her past unsuccessful relationships, saying "this is how it should have been the first time."

The former Atomic Kitten star recently celebrated her 40th birthday in Spain with Ryan and her family in a luxury villa.

While on holiday, her personal trainer boyfriend got down on one knee and popped the question.

Speaking to the Loose Women panelists after a clip of the proposal played, Warrington born Kerry was asked why she kept asking Ryan, "are you sure?"

Kerry said: "We all know my track record."

She added: "Normally after two and a half years, I'm engaged, I've got a baby, I'm divorced... this is how it should be."

The mum-of-five spoke of how the couple had taken their time and enjoyed living together, taking their relationship slowly.

Kerry said: "Before, it's always been about a wedding, I don't want a wedding, I want a marriage.

"I feel like this is how it should have been the first time, the second time and the third."

Kerry then laughed and said she was going to "shut up and let Ryan speak".

Ryan said he was happy he "got the answer he wanted" and revealed: "I actually considered doing it earlier in the year when we were in the Maldives... but it all went well and I got the answer I wanted."

Ryan got the blessing of Kerry's five children Molly, 19, Lilly, 17, Heidi, 13, Max, 12, and six year old DJ before he asked the reality star the all-important question.

He added: "Everyone was on board, it was lovely in that respect - I actually went to pick the ring with DJ and Heidi.

"I'm really happy about it."

Kerry quipped: "The police turned up at the villa - just a typical Tuesday really... the music was so loud that they just came to turn the music down.

"It's a good job I didn't go to the gate because I'd have thought they were strippers, could you imagine?"

Kerry also spoke about being in a good place mentally and physically.

She added: "I've waited my whole life to get to this point where I am mentally, as well as physically, we all know my ups and downs... I'm doing it the right way this time.

"I do want my happily ever after."
