Kerry Katona says Molly-Mae thanked her for apologising after baby name comments

Kerry Katona says Molly-Mae Hague has thanked her for apologising after making comments about her baby daughter's name.

Kerry, 42, previously said she thought the name Bambi was 'ridiculous' - and worried the tot would get bullied when she was older.

But she's since had a change of heart.

The mum-of-five admitted she 'thought she was being funny' when she made the comments, but 'realised she wasn't' and apologised to the Love Island star.

She now says Molly, 23, has accepted her apology.

Kerry said: "In my column last week, I apologised to Molly-Mae Hague for what I said about her daughter Bambi’s name.

"I’ve since spoken to her on Instagram and she thanked me for apologising. I’m never afraid to admit it when I get something wrong," reports OK! magazine.

Earlier this month the former Atomic Kitten singer blasted Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury over their baby name choice and admitted she 'wasn't a fan".

Kerry even went as far as urging the new parents to change their daughter's name, warning Bambi risked "getting stick" in school over the Disney-inspired moniker.

But now after Molly-Mae admitted the ' nasty' reaction to her baby's name was 'hard' to handle, the former face of Iceland has begged the influencer for forgiveness and admitted she was being a "w***er" when she made the "harsh" comments.

"Yeah it's really played on my mind this has, I personally haven't seen any backlash from what I said, but when I saw it in my column I thought bloody hell Kerry! That sounds a bit harsh!" she said on Instagram, tagging Molly-Mae in the post.

"I was trying to be a comedian and sometimes when you mix the two it doesn't come across very well," she continued.

"Bambi Fury is a great name! Since I said it, it's really, really, really played on my mind. I would never want to bring anybody down.

"I would never want to bully anybody or hurt anybody. I'm not that kind of person in the slightest.

"Sometimes I'll say something that I think is funny and it actually isn't.

"What can I say... my son is named after bloody Max Clifford! Do you know what I mean?

"That says it all really! What do I know? What do I know? Ignore me. Bambi Fury. Stars name in the making."
