Kerry Katona's teenage daughter turned down Love Island 2021 as she sets sights on another career

Kerry Katona's teenage daughter has revealed that she turned down the chance to appear on Love Island this year.

Lilly McFadden was approached to appear on the new series but admitted it would be her "worst nightmare".

The 18-year-old, whose parents are Kerry and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, said while she didn't have any issue with other people going on the show, it just wasn't for her.

'It's not a bit of me," Lilly told OK! Magazine. "Not in a rude way, it's a fun show, but if I was going to make a big TV debut it would not be with Love Island.

"Being romantic or getting my body out - it's not me. It's no diss to Love Island or the people who go on there but I hate PDAs."

She added: "I had a boyfriend for two years and I would not let him touch me in public. We'd be down Spoons and he'd try and hold my hand and I wouldn't let him!

"For most people, going in the villa, being surrounded by all those hunky men, it's a dream come true - for me, it'd be my worst nightmare."

But that wasn't the only reason for Lily's decision. She was also thinking of her beloved nan Mairead, Brian's mum.

"I have a Catholic nan in Ireland!" Lilly laughed.

"It would kill her if I went on the show! As for my dad, he couldn't say much if I did choose to go down that path - I'm 18 years old so he can't really have an opinion on what I do, but of course I'd take his thoughts into consideration.

"My mum would be fine with it, she's made me who I am and I know she'd support me no matter what. My dad's a bit more stubborn, though!"

While she may have turned the show down, she did admit to wanting to 'test the showbiz waters' just like her parents.

But she also has another plan up her sleeve as she's got her eyes set on becoming a Human Rights lawyer, and has been accepted into two universities to study law.
