The 40-year-old said she was excited to challenge herself against the notoriously difficult military recruitment programme.
She said: "I really enjoy the pressure of being outside my comfort zone because the end result is so exhilarating so I want to see what I'm able to do."
The first challenge tested the recruits' ability to move across mountainous terrain as they had to make their way between two peaks above a huge drop.
Kerry was first up and the Warrington born entertainment personality admitted she could struggle with the task.
She said: "I'm petrified of heights, my balance is terrible. I'm not a great runner, I only run if I'm being chased by the paparazzi normally."
After confidently making her way over part of the crossing, Kerry stopped to the outrage to the SAS taskmasters.
One barked: "That is a catastrophic fail. You've got a quarter of the way across. You can do this."
However, Kerry broke into tears as she admitted she would not be able to continue - and fans took to Twitter to predict that she wouldn't last long into the show.
One user said: "First to leave? Kerry or Ulrika?"
Another added: "I think Kerry will be first to leave tonight. She's not cut out for this at all."
A third commented: "I think Kerry won't last either"
The SAS team seemed to agree as they called Kerry in to give her a "rude awakening" at the end of the show.
However, once Kerry spoke about the adversity she had overcome in her personal life, she seemed to have won over the taskmasters.
One of the soldiers said: "You've overcome so much in your life and I want you to dig through this like you have done with every other situation in your life."
Other fans on Twitter seemed to agree with the faith put in Kerry after her heartfelt interview.
One user said: "Backing you @KerryKatona7 you got this girl!! #SASWhoDaresWins"
Another commented: "I really want Kerry Katona to win this. My heart goes out to her"
A third added: "Kerry Katona is a warrior and I will hear no different."
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues on Channel 4 at 9pm next Sunday
