Kerry Katona's daughter Heidi in tears after losing battle on The Voice Kids

Kerry Katona's daughter Heidi was in tears after being eliminated from The Voice Kids in tonight's instalment of the Battle rounds.

Heidi sang Jasmine Thomas' version of I Try by Macy Gray and became tearful during her first audition.

Warrington -born Kerry, 39, stayed in the wings while Heidi's confidence grew and she went on to deliver a heartwarming rendition.

Celebrity coach Paloma Faith picked Heidi to join her team and tonight marked the final round of Battles in the hit singing competition - with the semi-final now just a week away.

Heidi teamed up with youngster Rachel, a yodeller, and Dara, who had viewers in tears with his rendition of the hit Whitney Houston song I Have Nothing during his original audition.

Tonight, the three singers performed Shakira's Whenever, Wherever to try and claim a spot on Paloma's team in the semi-final.

After the song, Paloma told Heidi: "What you did was show yourself to be a real little star in that performance."

She praised Rachel for making the song her own and told Dara: "You have a very special voice that's bigger than you."

But in the end, Paloma chose to take Dara through to the next round.

She said: "I want you all to know you all deserve to go through but I'm going to keep... Dara."

After being eliminated, Heidi was in tears but she assured the coaches that they were tears of happiness.

Ahead of the show, mum Kerry Katona posted a photo of Heidi to her Instagram page and said: "Dont forget to tune in and watch my  @heidikatona  on  @thevoicekidsuk  tonight  @itv  7:20pm it’s the battles!!!!"
