Kerry Katona recalls 'amazing' experience on 'magic mushrooms' while on family holiday

Kerry Katona has recalled the 'amazing' experience she had on mind-bending magic mushrooms during a family holiday.

The mum-of-five, 42, says she and fiancé Ryan Mahoney enlisted someone to watch her kids during a getaway in Spain while they enjoyed a spiritual experience thanks to the hallucinogens and a team of professionals.

Kerry recalls herself and Ryan crying their eyes out after taking the mushrooms - a Class A drug in the UK - and seemingly blasts the British government for prohibiting legal use of the drug and preventing citizens from achieving "that free conscious mind."

The one-time I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! winner also describes herself as a "conspiracy theories person" and reveals her future plans to try ayahuasca, a psychoactive tea that triggers hallucinations - a spiritual experience Hollywood Megan Fox likened to being taken to the 'depths of hell' when she tried drank the tea last year.

"So we actually did mushrooms. We were in Marbella with the children. The kids went out for the day and we had two professionals come over. They set it all up," Kerry explains Shaun Attwood’s True Crime podcast, according to the Daily Star.

She continues: "I cried my eyes out, Ryan was crying his eyes out – and it was just amazing.

"I can’t explain it. It’s amazing what us as humans don’t realise what we can do with our own breath. I believe the f***ing Government don’t want us to have that free conscious mind, I’m a conspiracy theories person."

Throughout the chat, Kerry opens up about her previous well-documented battle with narcotics, but claims the magic mushrooms and other similar drugs are different - adding: "I’m a massive spiritual person, I believe in a higher power, I believe in visualisation, manifestation."

The former Atomic Kitten singer goes on to reveal how she and personal trainer Ryan, 33, are planning to take ayahuasca next, and will use the services of Ariana Rivadeneyra and Colin Gingell, who have legal permission to work with the psychedelic in Spain.

In July last year, Megan Fox opened up on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show about the time she 'went to hell for eternity' during her vomit-inducing, hallucinogenic ayahuasca trip with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly.

Discussing the intense drug trip with TV host Arsenio Hall, the 36-year-old revealed that the experience in Costa Rica was therapeutic and she recommends it to others.

The mum-of-three went on to claim the ritual was a "good bonding experience" and revealed that she and boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly took ayahuasca on three different nights, with a different 'trip' each time.

"Everybody's journey is different," she reminisced.

"The second night I went to hell for eternity. And just knowing eternity is like torture in itself because there's no beginning, middle or end. So you have like a real ego death."

While the her experience may sound terrifying to many, Jennifer's Body actress Megan stated she found it to be a form of therapy far superior to other more conventional and mainstream treatments.

"This is a medicine that goes — it surpasses anything you could do with talk therapy or hypnotherapy, any of those things," she explained during the interview last year.

"It just goes straight into your soul and takes you into your psychological prison you hold yourself in. It's your own version of hell. And I was definitely there."
