Kerry Katona jets home with bottles of champagne after tragic death of George Kay

Kerry Katona put on a brave face yesterday as she was seen jetting back to the UK after her ex-husband's sudden death.

The mum-of-five, 38, was seen clutching four bottles of champagne as she waited to board her flight from Greece.

Her ex George Kay, who had a history of mental health problems and drug abuse, was found dead from a suspected drug overdose earlier this month.

But Kerry was happy to smile for the cameras she posed with her monogrammed 'KK' luggage and a Christian Dior bag at the airport.

She looked summery in a striped maxi-dress and matching turquoise sandals, which she wore with a lime green headband and round sunglasses.

Kez queued up to pay for the bottles of Moet with a pal, as she flaunted a mauve Gucci bumbag on her waist.

The Liverpool Echo reported that Mr Kay, 39, died on Saturday July 6 after 'eating a quantity of cocaine' in front of staff at the Holiday Inn hotel in Sutton Weaver, Runcorn, Cheshire.

A source has claimed that Mr Kay had been acting erratically and refused to return to his room, prompting staff to call Cheshire Police .

Officers attended at 9.54pm, on July 5, but are believed to have left the hotel after Mr Kay agreed to return to his room.

It is then claimed hotel staff went to check on the dad, at around 10am on Saturday, only to witness the former Rugby League star "eating" a large amount of suspected cocaine, which had been placed on a desk.

Sources claim Mr Kay quickly became extremely unwell and both Cheshire Police and the North West Ambulance Service were called.

Mr Kay, who is the father of Kerry's youngest daughter Dylan-George, aged five, was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

Kerry was heartbroken after being told about his death.

Mr Kay, who was married to the Atomic Kitten star between 2014 and 2017, had a history of mental health issues and drug use.

The pair met as teenagers while pupils at Padgate High School in Warrington .

They married in September 2014 but their relationship soured, with a restraining order in place keeping Mr Kay away from Kerry, after reports he was violent towards her.
