Kerry Katona fuming at "dirty and disgusting habit" in fiery GMB debate

Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona was fuming on Good Morning Britain on Thursday as she slammed a "dirty and disgusting" habit she says needs to stop now.

Kerry was a guest on the morning show via video link to her new home in Alderley Edge in Cheshire to discuss GMB's big topic of debate - whether it's OK or not to urinate in the sea on your hols.

And mum-of-five Kerry was definitely not sitting on the fence on this one.

Kerry slammed media commentator Nick Ede who was on the show to give his opinion that it's perfectly fine to wee in the sea if you get caught short on the beach - while Kerry insisted it's never acceptable.

She fumed: "Say my little girl is in the sea swimming and someone stood next to her and started peeing.

"I think that is really, really dirty and disgusting.

"I mean we're polluting the world as it is, we're polluting our oceans as it is and then going in the sea and having a pee when it takes you two minutes to go over and have a wee in a toilet.

"Don't get me wrong, I've done it as a kid, but as an adult it's something I really frown upon, I don't want to be in the sea and have someone stood next to me having a pee, it's disgusting."

Giving the opposite side of the debate, Nick, speaking from the beach in East Sussex said: "I don't think it's lazy I don't think it's dirty, I think it's actually something you do if you get caught in that situation or actually it can be really really cold and warms you up for a few seconds".

"Oh my god", exclaimed Kerry in horror.

Nick continued: "The sea is full of pee from other fish and organisms. There's worse things, like sun tan lotion. The sea is a fine place to pee. I would never go and pee near children and one of the most important things from an environmental point of view is to not do it near coral as it can erode it."

Kerry said: "Or just don't do it at all."

Nick finished by saying: "I've done my homework and it's actually harmless to do it and I think most of the nation do it."

The topic fast became a hot topic of debate on social media, with many people not quite able to believe what they were watching, while others hailed it "weirdest GMB debate ever".

One said: "Southern Water was recently fined £90m after dumping raw sewage in coastal waters nearly 7,000 times, and Kerry Katona's worried about people having a wee in the sea?"

A second said: "As a child I thought the year 2021 would be all flying cars, interplanetary tourism and humanity working together as one to make the world better.

"Instead I got Kerry Katona talking about p***ing in the sea on a National breakfast show."

A third added: "We’re at the “Kerry Katona tells us not to p*** in the sea” stage of 2021."
