Kerry Katona flees I'm A Celeb's castle after terrifying encounter on ghost hunt

Kerry Katona escaped I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here's castle after a frightening encounter on a ghost trail.

Locals warned Gwrych Castle was haunted by ghosts before it featured as the home for I'm A Celebrity campmates.

The Atomic Kitten star took her lookalike daughter Lilly-Sue, 18, to Gwrych Castle for a spooky night with paranormal investigators on Wednesday.

The ghostly experience was so terrifying a visibly shaken Kerry made her escape before the ghost investigation was over, leaving her daughter to continue on.

Investigators Linzi and Lee Steer, who run Project Reveal - Ghosts of Britain, lifted the lid on what was going on behind the scenes on the spooky night.

Linzi said: "Kerry just said 'right, I'm going'. She ran straight to the car and locked herself in the car.

"She was scared. She kept holding me and you can feel her holding on to me. She linked my arm and she was clinging to me. I felt sorry for her."

If their experience was anything to go by, the I'm A Celeb stars had more to worry about than the cockroaches last year.

Kerry was left quaking with fear after she heard the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP) captured by the investigators.

Chilling ghostly voices warned the star and her daughter to "leave now" in the EVP.

In panic, the singer "proper freaked out" and left the castle walls earlier than the investigators had planned because she was so scared of the ghostly atmosphere.

Despite her overwhelming fear, Kerry did get as involved as possible in the ghostly experience.

Linzi added: "I went 'oh my god'. That was one of the clearest EVPs we've ever got.

"We played it to Kerry and she proper freaked out. She had to leave. She left early because she got scared. We managed to persuade her to come down. She really didn't want to come down.

"It was very dark. Kerry sat on the throne and said 'it feels strange to kind of be back'. Everyone was enthusiastic about trying to find evidence. Everyone was focused.

"Kerry is such a lovely lady and she was so involved with it. Even her daughter Lilly loved it."
