Kerry Katona celebrates her birthday as family transform mansion into party palace

Kerry Katona was over the moon as her family organised a surprise party for her birthday.

The former Atomic Kitten singer gasped when she saw that her Cheshire mansion had been transformed into a party zone with a balloon arch, streamers over the door and a cake featuring a mini Kerry complete with her new purple hair and pet Rottweiler.

There was also a stand of doughnuts and a chocolate cake decked out with candles.

The table was all set for a family party and as the mum-of-five emerged her fiance Ryan Mahoney and her children Lilly-Sue, Heidi, Maxwell, and Dylan Jorge sang 'Happy Birthday' to her.

Kerry, who turns 41 tomorrow, clapped her hands in delight when she saw what they had arranged for her before blowing out the candles on her cake.

The star later enjoyed a birthday dinner.

She was missing her eldest daughter Molly who couldn't be there for the celebrations but the birthday girl had a great night.

"Had so much fun at my birthday dinner last night!!! Wasn’t the same without my Molly there but so super proud of my family," she wrote as she shared snaps on her Instagram.

Last month Kerry moved in to her new £2million Cheshire home as she shared her emotions about the new chapter in her life.

She has spoken openly in the past about her past struggles with bankruptcy and addiction and had been on the verge of giving up.

She told fans during a tour of the mansion on her YouTube channel: "I was millionaire and I lost everything. I was doing loads of drugs, bankruptcy and now I'm about to get the keys to my new house.

"It's all very, very overwhelming. I'm also extremely proud of myself that I've got that low in my life and climbed back up to where I am now. I feel a sense of achievement."

Last week fans saw her make her debut on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins as the support came flooding in.

The plucky star is among the line-up taking on various tough challenges set by chief instructor Ant Middleton and his team on the Channel Four show based on the SAS selection process.

Kerry was tearful on last Sunday's opening episode as she opened up about her relationship with her late ex husband George Kay.

After she was brought into the interrogation room she was overcome with emotion as she reflected on her past.

Ant said: "I can tell you're stuck somewhere. I don't know f***ing where you're stuck, but you're stuck somewhere. Where are you stuck?"

She explained that it was tough to hear the officers shouting at her.

But Ant told the star it was a form of encouragement on their behalf, which Kerry acknowledged.
