Kerry Katona breaks silence on George Kay's death insisting she 'put neck on line' for him

Kerry Katona has broken her silence on George Kay 's death by insisting she "put her neck on line for him" on many occassions.

The pop star's ex, 39, died from an apparent drug overdose on Saturday.

She was later slammed by dads' rights group Fathers4Justice, who accused her of having "blood on her hands" over his death.

They were referring to claims George hadn't seen their daughter, Dylan-Jorge, five, in a year.

The former singer was defended by her eldest daughters, Lily-Sue and Molly, who both hit out at Fathers4Justice.

Kerry has now retweeted Lily-Sue's messages, including one which stated teh Atomic Kitten star had tried to help George.

Lily-Sue, 16, wrote: "I find your tweets repulsive and insensitive.

"You must remind yourself he had kids who are at an age that use social media.

"You did not know George like we did and to have the audacity to speak of my mother who put her neck on the line for that man on countless...

"Occasions when no decent human would is vile.

"We’re in mourning and people like you are poisonous. Using death for your own gain and to increase your following is disgusting.

"I’m sending love and light your way as it is clearly needed."

Kerry is yet to talk about the death of George, who she divorced in 2017, and has said in the past that he was violent towards her during their relationship.

A close family friend of Kerry said: “Kerry was told this afternoon that George suffered an overdose and was taken to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

“No one yet knows what he overdosed on or whether it was intentional or an accident.

“Kerry is heartbroken, he’s DJ’s dad and she loved him once.

“She can’t bear the thought of explaining to her daughter what has happened.”
