Kerry GAA spend almost €850,000 on senior football team on way to All-Ireland win

Kerry GAA spent almost €850,000 on their senior football team on the way to this year’s All-Ireland triumph.

The total spend on Kerry inter-county teams was in the region of €1.45 million with overall profits doubling to an impressive €1 million.

Counties don’t often give a breakdown for the spend on individual teams, but back in 2018 Cork spent €1.75 million on their inter-county teams with Dublin and Mayo also crashing through the €1.5 million barrier.

Kerry’s big spend was offset by a huge increase in income post Covid with sponsorship rising by over €400,000 to just under €775,000.

Royalties from Kerry gear sales rocketed from €133,000 to €547,000 with the release of a new jersey early last year accounting for much of this additional income.

Kerry sold 9300 tickets for a ‘Win a House in Killarney’ draw, netting over €285,000.
