Kerry footballer Michael Foley wins €42,000 and club match on same evening

A Kerry footballer was celebrating on the double after winning €42,000 on Winning Streak and helping his club into the county semi-final.

Michael Foley was drawn out of the drum to play the National Lottery game on Saturday evening.

But, he had to get his sister Melissa Foley to go on the gameshow in his place, as he was lining out for East Kerry in the Kerry Senior Football Championship quarter-finals.

Michael ended up helping his club to a comprehensive 1-23 to 1-11 victory over Dingle at Austin Stack Park.

And at the same time his sister, who flew into Dublin from London, came up trumps on the television, winning €42,000 for her younger brother.

Melissa, 28, was supported in the audience by her parents Helen and Mike Snr, and she is sure to be treated to something special by her younger brother now.
