Kerry football legend Colm Cooper has announced his engagement to long-term love Ceitilis Ní Bheaglaoich
The Kerry legend – who has won five All-Ireland medals, four National League titles, an All-Ireland Club Championship medal, seven Kerry Senior Football Championships and eight All-Star Awards – is set to achieve a new milestone.
One of the Kingdom's greats - 37-year-old Colm Cooper recently popped the question to his teacher partner Céitilís Ní Bheaglaoich.
Congratulations were posted on social media from East Kerry GAA board and Dr Crokes GAA club on the happy news. Members commented their blessings and happiness for Colm and his wife to be Céitilís.
One user commented wrote on Dr Crokes GA clubs post: “Many congratulations to you both. And to Colm a big thank you for all the amazing displays and joy you brought us over the years!”
Another user commented on East Kerry GAA’s post: “Congrats and best of luck and safe and washing your hands and stay at home.”
Colm works for AIB, while Céitilís teaches at the Gaelscoil Aogain in Castleisle and is from West Kerry.
She has been by Colm's side for a few years now, including in 2018 when the football legend was honoured with the Kerry Person of the Year Award in Dublin.
The pair are both delighted to share the good news with everyone.
Unfortunately, the engagement celebrations will have wait until lockdown restrictions ease after the 1st of December.
The date for the wedding has not yet been announced but hopefully the two love birds will get to celebrate in style for the main event.
