Injured Kerry defender Peter Crowley has been hit with an eight-week suspension after he sprayed a Dublin player during the All-Ireland final while acting as a 'maor uisce'.
Crowley, who is currently out with a cruciate ligament tear, squirted water in the direction of a Dublin player while working along the sideline in front of the Hogan Stand during the second half of the draw.
And the incident was not only picked up on by TV cameras, but also noted in referee David Gough's report resulting in the suspension.
Match-day protocols in the GAA do not allow for current players to act as water carriers but in this case and others it has been ignored and led to disciplinary charges.
And despite being a player, the Laune Rangers man was punished as an official, which classifies his offence as misconduct by an official where physical interference is involved, coming under rule &.2c, Category 11A.
