Kerry community mourning the loss of Moyvane GAA player

The Kerry GAA community is mourning the tragic death of much-loved Moyvane player Timmy Noonan.

The club confirmed on social media on Sunday that they had lost one of their bright talents.

In a post on Facebook, Moyvane GAA said: “It is with our deepest regret, shock and sadness that we have learned of the passing of our teammate and friend Timmy Noonan.

“Words cannot express our sorrow at the loss of such an outstanding young man who touched all of our lives in so many ways. Our heartfelt condolences to Timmy's parents Con and Trish, his loving partner Nicola, brother James and sister Siobhan along with his extended family and many friends.

“Timmy may your gentle soul rest in peace with heaven's angels. You will be greatly missed by all in Moyvane GAA and our community.

“Gone too soon but you will never be forgotten. A true Gael, our teammate, our friend,” the post read.

Tributes have poured in for the accomplished sportsman with gaelic clubs, community representatives, friends and family all coming together to remember him.

Nichola Thomson posted on Facebook: “Heartbreaking news gone way too soon, Timmy was such a lovely young fella. My deepest sympathy to his family, girlfriend Nicola and all his friends.”

Frances Leahy added: “Our deepest sympathy to Tricia Con James Siobhan Nicola and extended family on the passing of Timmy.

“Heartbreaking News to everyone who knew him his fellow teammates and co-workers and anyone who may him along the way. RIP Timmy.”

Shane Mulvihill, who was a teammate of Timmy’s said: “R.I.P Timmy, was a privilege to play soccer with you with Athea United, condolences to all the Noonan family, partner, friends and team mates.”
