Kerr wears ‘Take Action Not Sides’ shirt on anniversary of Brady Bill

Throughout this incredible run, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and his team have addressed many of the newsworthy events outside of basketball including the Oakland fires and the shootings that have occurred throughout the country.

The Warriors organization has become one of the top teams to use their platforms against social injustice and inequality.

The game in Orlando on Thursday night was no exception, as Kerr sported a purple shirt that read “Take Action Not Sides” as tweeted by San Francisco Chronicle Warriors beat writer, Connor Letourneau.

The shirt was to honor the Brady Bill, which was the law that Congress passed in order to have background checks on firearm users in the United States. The law went into effect 25 years ago today, on February 28, 1994.

In addition to honoring the anniversary of the Brady Bill, the shirt was worn by Kerr to offer support to the families of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando approximately three years ago.

The Warriors have done an inspiring job of staying in solidarity with the people affected in these uneven times, and will continue to do so with Kerr leading the charge.
