Kerr and Bull claim Stawell Gift victories

Carla Bull, seen here winning her semi-final, has taken out the women's Stawell Gift. (AAP)

Harrison Kerr has justified his pre-race favouritism by storming to victory in the men's Stawell Gift.

Racing off a mark of 9.25m, Kerr powered across the line in 11.85 seconds to win the prestigious 120m handicap event on Easter Monday at Central Park.

Hamish Lindstrom was second and Jesse McKenna - the son of former AFL great Guy McKenna - was third.

Queenslander Carla Bull won the women's Gift in a photo finish in a time of 13.77 off a mark of 6m.

Clare De Salis was second and backmarker Mia Gross was third.
