Main roads have been flooded after parts of Merseyside were battered for hours by heavy rain.
The downpours started on Tuesday afternoon and it rained on and off throughout the evening.
Shortly after 9pm, people in Wirral began reporting that a number of areas had suffered flooding and cars should avoid them.
Police cordoned off Borough Road, in Birkenhead, next to the flyover from the tunnel.
On social media, a video was shared showing a man who lives nearby wading into the flood water in welly boots and pretending to fish.
Just a few streets away, on Cambridge Road, one residents posted to say that the grids in the street were struggling to remove the flood water.
The woman said: "Take care down Cambridge Road, the grids are struggling & the kerbs have disappeared.."
Under the bridge at Bebington Station was also badly affected by the flooding as video on social media showed a number of cars struggling to drive through it.
Wirral resident Steve Fraser tweeted about the flooding as well to warn other to avoid the affected areas.
He said that a fire engine was parked near a badly flooded road to keep driver away.
He said: "Some floods on Wirral.
"The road from motorway up past Sainsburys is closed as there is a flood under the rail bridge.
"So deep there’s a fire engine parked sideways to stop anyone attempting to drive through."
