KOZHIKODE: A 31-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide along with her twomonth-old child by jumping into a well at Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district. The deceased is P Ramya, from Kadinjimoola and her baby girl.
Nileshwaram police said that the incident took place at around 1am on Monday. The bodies were found in a well on a plot adjacent to her house during a search conducted by family and local residents after the woman and child went missing on Sunday night. They searched the well in the compound housing a building of Dinesh Beedi, on seeing her mobile phone near the well.
Police said that the woman had made a suicide bid earlier and was having issues after her delivery.
She is survived by her husband Pratheesh and a sevenyear-old daughter.
