PALAKKAD: Malampuzha MLA A Prabhakaran has said that a drinking water supply scheme to provide water to the border grama panchayats like Pudussery will be taken up by sourcing water from Walayar dam.
He said that water from the dam is now being used for irrigation purpose. With the repairing of irrigation canals, more water can be provided to all farmers in the area, he said.
He added that steps would be taken to renovate Malampuzha Garden. As it is in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, lot of visitors come to the dam site. Safety measures will be strengthened to avoid drowning cases in the reservoir and the river, the MLA said.
